Photosynthesis/Chemosynthesis

Photosynthesis process by which plants and some other organisms use light energy to power chemical reactions that convert water and carbon dioxide into oxygen and high-energy carbohydrates such as sugars and starches
Chlorophyll green pigment common to all photosynthetic organisms, absorbs all wavelengths of visible light except green
Light-Dependent Process of Photosynthesis process by which chlorophyll captures and converts light energy into ATP and NADPH, also splits water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen ions
Light-Independent Process of Photosynthesis occurs when ATP and NADPH are used to form carbohydrates (glucose)
Chemosynthesis process of making carbohydrates (glucose) without the use of sunlight, usually occurs deep within the ocean
