Observation step of the scientific method where a problem to be studied is defined
Hypothesis step of the scientific method where one or more possible explanations for the observation are determined
Experiment step of the scientific method where controlled attempts to test the hypothesis are carried-out
Conclusion step of the scientific method that determines if the hypothesis is supported or not based upon the results of the experiment
Law a fundamental underlying principle that explains how the universe is organized
Control a part of an experiment that does not have any changeable parts
Variable a part of an experiment that is tested and changed to get results
Ethics a branch of philosophy dealing with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions
