QuestionAnswer
Nucleus Controls all activities of the cell growth and reproductions.
Cell membrane Allows certain molecules to go in or out of the cell. Molecules diffuse in or out of a cell. Molecules diffuse in or out of a cell. Made up of a Z Phospholipids layers interconnected.
Cell Wall Supports and protects the cell, does not allow molecules in or out
Chromosomes proteins that contain DNA which has coded information for making molecules.
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum Produces and Stares protein.
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum Produces and stores fat and oil
Golgi Bodies Modifies and packages protein is attached to rough ER with Enzymes
Ribosomes Helps Rough ER make proteins is attached to Rough ER
Centrioles Helps with cell division (Mitosis)
Mitochondria Converts sugar into energy for cell spindle fibres comes from here
Cytoplasm Fluid in the cell, allows organelles to move around.
Vacuole Stores water, minerals and victims. Much bigger in plant cell
Lysosomes Breaks down - food -invading bacteria -old/damaged organelles
Chloroplast Uses sunlight to make its own food Photosynthesis- CO2+H2O+light > sugar+O2
Diffusion Movement of Molecules from areas of high concentration to low concentration.
Permeable Allows any molecules to diffuse across membrane
Semi-permeable allows certain molecules to diffuse across membrane
Non- Permeable Allows no molecules to diffuse across membrane
Osmosis movement of water molecules from high concentration of water to low concentration of water

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
