Monocots & Dicots

Differences between Monocots and Dicots in plants.

Question
Both Monocots and Dicots are sub-classifiers of the division/phylum Anthophyta, which has flowering plants.
Monocots - single seed leaves, called cotyledons. Dicots - two seed leaves (two cotyledons).
Monocots - parallel venation; tapering blade with sheath encircling stem. Dicot - netted venation; expanded blade & petiole (leaf stalk)
Monocots - floral parts in 3's Dicots - floral parts in 4's or 5's
Monocots - scattered vascular bundles in cross-section Dicots - vascular bundles arranged in circle in cross-section
Monocots - fibrous root system Dicots - taproot root system.
