Abiotic factor A nonliving thing in an ecosystem.
Biomagnification The amount of DDT increases as you go up the food chain.
Biotic factor A living thing in an ecosystem.
Commensalism 2 different species. One benefits from the relationship and the other is unaffected.
Competition 2 living things fighting over the same resource.
Consumer Something that eats to get food.
Endangered species Not many left in existence.
Invasive species Something living where it should not be living and it’s causing problems.
Mutualism 2 different species. They both benefit from their relationship.
Parasitism 2 different species. One benefits and the other is harmed.
Predator-prey One animal kills and eats another animal.
Primary consumer An animal that eats plants.
Producer Something that can make its own food by doing photosynthesis.
Secondary consumer An animal that eats primary consumers.
