How many chromosomes are there in a normal human cell? 46
Name the organs that produce male gametes in plants and animals Testes (animals)/ anthers (plants)
State the name of male gametes in plants and animals . Sperm (animals) / pollen (plants)
Name the organs that produce female gametes in plants and animals Ovaries (animals) / ovaries (Plants)
State the name of female gametes in plants and animals Eggs/ova/ovum (animals) / ovules (plants)
Define fertilisation. Fusion of two haploid gametes (nuclei) to produce a diploid zygote (divides to form an embryo).
