Animal & Plant Cell

Animal and Plant Cell Organelle's and their function's

TermDefinition
Golgi body Packages and delivers proteins
Endoplasmic Reticulum The smooth and rough ER packages and transports lipids (fats) and proteins
Mitochondria The powerhouse of the cell. It provides the cell with energy. (Like a lighting bolt)
Cytoplasm Jelly-like fluid that fills the cell to keep the organelles in place
Centriole are only in animal cells and help with cell division
Nucleus is the control center of the Gell and gives the instructions to the rest of the cell (like a king or queen)
Organelles are the workers of the cell and perform task to keep the cell working.
Plasma Membrane allows certain things in and out of the cell (like a screen door)
Cell Wall Provides strength, structure, and protection for the plant, only found in plant cells
The three organelles that you can only find in the plant cell CVC - cell was, vacuole, chloroplast
Chloroplast uses the sun to create energy and food, only found in plant cells
Vacuole stores water, food, and minerals for the cell, only found in plant cells
Where is DNA stored in the nucleus
Lysosomes breaks down substances, only found in animal cells.
