Non-Mendelian Inheritance A type of inheritance that does not follow Mendelian laws of inheritance
Codominance A condition in which both alleles for a gene are fully expressed
genetic disorder An abnormal condition that a person inherits through genes or chromosomes
incomplete dominance A pattern of inheritance in which two alleles, inherited from the parents, are neither dominant nor recessive. The resulting heterozygous offspring have a phenotype that is a blending of the alleles.
sex-linked traits Traits controlled by genes located on sex chromosomes.
multiple allele trait controlled by three or more alleles of the same gene that code for a single trait
polygenic trait A trait in which the phenotype is controlled by two or more genes at different loci on different chromosomes.
Epistasis interaction between alleles in which one allele hides the effects of another allele
