All living things are made up of four classes of large biological molecules: Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, and Nucleic Acids
Are large molecules that are complex Macromolecules
Polymers A long molecule consisting of many similar building blocks.
Monomers The repeating units that serve as building blocks
Carbohydrates, proteins, and Nucleic acids Are polymers
Lipids Are not polymers
Enzymes Speed up Chemical reactions that make or break polymers
Dehydration Reaction Makes a polymer
Hydrolysis Breaks a polymer
