Term | Definition |

Wage | a fixed regular payment, typically paid on a daily or weekly basis, made by an employer to an employee, especially to a manual or unskilled worker. |
Soft Skills | personal attributes that enable someone to interact effectively and harmoniously with other people. |
Net Pay | take-home pay or the amount employees earn after all payroll deductions are subtracted from their gross pay. |
Return on Investment | a measure of the profit earned from an investment relative to the amount of money invested |
Work Study Program | provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. |
Salary Job | an individual who is hired to handle a particular job and is paid a fixed amount of money, regardless of the hours they work per week. |
Benefits | an advantage or profit gained from something. |
FAFSA | federal student aid—grants, work-study, and loans |
Subsidized Loan | loans for undergraduate students with financial need, as determined by your cost of attendance minus expected family contribution and other financial aid |
Economic Stability | people have the resources essential to a healthy life. |
Career Incentives | monetary or non-monetary (but still tangible) rewards, like points or gift vouchers, designed to motivate and engage employees. |
529 Account | a tax-advantaged savings plan designed to encourage saving for future education costs |

Economic Mobility | a measure of how. much a person's income changes over time. |
Gig Economy | a labor market characterized by the prevalence of short-term contracts or freelance work as opposed to permanent jobs. |
Disposable Income | income remaining after deduction of taxes and other mandatory charges, available to be spent or saved as one wishes. |

Debt Ratio | a financial ratio that measures the extent of a company's leverage. |
