QuestionAnswer
What Are Chromosomes made of? Chromosomes are made of Dna.
Describe Homologous Chromosomes. Homologous chromosomes are chromosomes that are similar in size,in shape, and in kinds of genes.
what is energy? Energy is something that allows work to be done.
What does each chromosomes consists of? Each chromosome consists of sister chromatids attached at a centromere.
Their are two main types of energy. What are they? Two types of energy is potential energy and kinetic energy.
What is Photosynthesis? Photosynthesis is a process that uses sunlight, CO2,and water to make sugars.
Describe the Anaerobic process. Anaerobic process does not require oxygen.
How is energy transferred? Energy is transferred when it is moved from one place to another.
Describe an electron carrier. An electron carrier is a compound that can accept a pair of high energy electrons and transfer them, and their energy to another molecule.
What is Cellular Respiration? Cellular Respiration is the set of the metabolic reactions and processes that take place in the cells of organisms to convert energy from nutrients into Atp, and then releases waste products.
What are 3 stages in Cellular respiration? 1. Glycolysis 2. Krebs Cycle 3. Electron transport chain
What is Kinetic energy? Kinetic energy is the energy of motion.
Where does the Cellular Respiration take place? The cellular respiration takes place in the mitochondria.
What is Stage 1 of Cellular respiration? Stage 1 of cellular respiration is Glycolysis.
What is the Krebs Cycle also known as? The Krebs cycle is also known as the Citric Acid Cycle.
How many chromosomes does a human have? A human has 46 chromosomes.
Describe Autosomes. Autosomes are chromosomes with genes that do not determine the sex
In humans and other organisms what are the two sex chromosomes referred to as? The two sex chromosomes are referred to as the X & Y chromosomes.
Describe the cell cycle. The cell cycle is a series of events during which a cell grows, prepares for division, and then divides to form two daughter cells.
How many stages does the Eukaryotic cell cycle consists of? The eukaryotic cell cycle consists of four stages.
What does S stand for in stage 2? In stage 2, the S stands for synthesis
Where do light dependent reactions begin? They begin in Photosystem II.
What are light dependent reactions? Light dependent reactions require the involvement of light and light absorbing pigments.
What is Cytokinesis? Cytokinesis is the separation of the cytoplasm of the original cell into two new cells.
What do organelles need to build their cells? Organelles need matter to build their cells.
Describe autotrophs. Autotrophs can make their own food.
Describe heterotrophs. Heterotrophs have to eat other organisms to get their food.
Definition of Anabolic. Anabolic builds molecules and requires energy.
What are Prokaryotic cells? Prokaryotic cells does not contain a nucleus and other membrane bound organelles.
What are Eukaryotic cells? Eukaryotic cells are organisms which does contains a nucleus and other membrane bound organelles.
Write the photosynthesis equation. 6CO2+6H2O > C6H12O6+6O2
Definition of Metabolism. Metabolism is all of the chemical reactions occuring in your cells at one time.
What kind of energy is potential energy? Potential energy is stored energy.
What kind of energy is kinetic energy? Kinetic energy is the energy of motion.
What are catabolic reactions? Breaks down molecules to release their stored energy.
During chemical reactions what do atoms receive? Atoms receive new bonding partners and energy may be transferred.
