What is energy? The ability to do work
What is matter? Anything that occupies space and has form or shape
What are atoms? They have outer shells that are filled with electrons
What are molecules Two or more atoms that are joined by chemical bonds
2 parts of an atom: Central nucleus and orbiting electrons
Radiolucent or Radiopaque: Caries Radiolucent
Why are caries radiolucent? Caries are radiolucent because the most common dental diseases all destroy a portion of the normal tooth or jaw structure and therefor result more radiolucent

What is a photon? A bundle of pure energy that has no weight or mass
What is an ion? An atom that gains or lose an electron and becomes electrically unbalanced)
