Which hormone is secreted by the testes? Androgen (testosterone)
Which hormone is secreted by the hypothalamus? Gonadotrophin releasing hormone (GnRH)
What hormone is secreted by the uterus? Prostaglandin F2 alpha
What does FSH do? Initiates follicular growth, influence spermatogenesis
What does LH do? Stimulates growth of hormone secreting gonad tissues, acts with FSH to stimulate ovulation, causes corpus luteum formation
What does prolactin do? Ovary - maintains functional capacity of corpus luteum, Mammary gland - stimulates production of milk in alveoli, Causes broodiness in birds
What does oxytocin do? Uterus - stimulates contraction, mammary glands initiates let down of milk ducts and cisterns
What does estrogen do? Stimulates growth of accessory reproductive glands and secondary sex characteristics - induces estrus - stimulates development of the duct system
What does Progestogen do? Inhibits release of FSH an LH, prepares uterus for implantation, maintains pregnancy, develops alveolar system
What does placenta release? Progestogen
Corpus Lutem is Ovary
What does realxin do? relaxes pubic bones and starts birthing process
What does testosterone do? Stimulates sexual desire, stimulates growth of accessory glands and secondary sex characteristics
