703 Bacteria

TermDefinition
Prokaryotes - have no nucleus the simplest cells includes bacteria
unicellular - Made of a single cell All bacteria are unicellular
Asexual - reproduction by one parent all the offspring are identical to the parent and to each other bacteria reproduce asexually
bacteria evolution - evolve very quickly this is because the reproduce very quickly
use in labs - the fact that they reproduce so quickly makes them useful to scientists studying things like genetics
cell walls - they have cells walls the cell wall is outside the cell membrane
antibiotics - Drugs that block the growth and reproduction of bacteria they do not work on viruses
binary fission - A form of asexual reproduction used by bacteria in which one cell divides into two cells of the same size
