Incomplete dominance - | When the heterozygous phenotype is a blend of the dominant and recessive phenotypes Both alleles are expressed, but neither allele is fully expressed Results in a third phenotype |
Codominance - | When the heterozygous genotype results in a phenotype where both alleles are fully and separately expressed Ex: A genotype of RW resulting in some red flower petals and some white flower petals |
Complete dominance - | a pattern of inheritance in which there are only two alleles and the dominant trait is always expressed in a hybrid, or heterozygous, organism AKA simple dominance |
Inheritance Patterns - | predictable patterns seen in the transmission of traits from one generation to the next Includes simple dominance, incomplete dominance, and codominance |
