The masticatory mucosa that covers the alveolar processes of the jaws and surrounds the necks of the teeth. Gingiva

The band of tissue that passes from the facial oral mucosa at the midline of the arch to the midline of the inner surface of the lip. Labial Frenum
The normal variation of white raised tissue that extends horizontally where the maxillary and mandible come together on the buccal mucosa. Linea Alba
The thin fold of mucous membrane that extends from the floor of the mouth to the underside of the tongue. Lingual Frenum
The part of the mandible that forms the chin. Mental Proturberance
The base of the vestibule where the buccal mucosa meets the alveolar mucosa. MucoBuccal Fold
The distinct line of color change in the tissue where the alveolar membrane meets with attached gingiva. Mucogingival Junction
The midpoint between the eyes just below the eyebrows; where the 2 nasal bones and the frontal bone join. Nasion
The groove extending upward between the labial commissure and the nasal ala. Nasolabial Sulcus
The space on the tongue side within the upper and lower dental arches. Oral Cavity Proper
The small elevation of tissue located on the inner surface of the cheek. Parotid Papilla
The rectangular area between 2 ridges from under the nose to the midline of the upper lip. Philtrum
The posterior arch of the soft palate. Posterior Faucial Pillar
The facial landmark commonly called the "bridge" of the nose. Root
The tissue that divides the nasal cavity into 2 nasal fossae; not related to the dental dam. Septum
The cartilaginous projection anterior to the external opening of the ear. Tragus
The pear-shaped projection at the end of the soft palate. Uvula
The largest papilla on the tongue; arranged in the form of a V. Vallate Papilla
Term for the dark colored border around the lips. Vermillion Border
The space between the teeth and the inner mucosal lining of the lips and cheeks. Vestibule
The arch formed when the temporal process of the zygomatic bone articulates with the zygomatic process of the temporal bone; creating the prominence of the cheek. Zygomatic Arch
