Skeletal Muscles

| What are skeletal muscles? | They are the ones that are attached to our bones by tendons and we can voluntarily control them. |
| Skeletal Muscles are Divided into two namely? | Axial and appendicular muscles. |
| What is the difference between the two? | Axial muscles are the muscle groups found in the trunk and head while appendicular muscles are the ones found in the arms and legs. |
| How are axial muscles grouped? | These muscles are grouped based on location and function. Some axial muscles tend to move over to the appendicular skeleton. |
| What are the major axial skeletal muscles? | The major ones include; Trapezius, Pectoralis major, Pectoralis minor, External Oblique, Rectus Abdominus, and Latissimus Dorsi |
| What are the major Appendicular muscles? | They include: Deltoid Muscle, Biceps Brachii, Triceps Brachii, Hamstrings, Gastrocnemius, Quadriceps Femoris, Gluteus Maximus. |
| What are the minor/other axial skeletal muscles? | heart, diaphragm, bladder, small intestine, tongue, stomach, frontalis, rectus abdominis, pupillary dilatory, pupillary sphincter, stapedius, sternocleidomastoids and orbicularis oris |
| What are the minor/other appendicular muscles? | Achilles Tendon, Soleus, Sartorius, Extensor Indicis, Flexior Digitorium Prof and Extensor Hallusis Long |
