How many pairs of ribs are there? 12 Pairs of Ribs articulate w/ Thoracic Vertebrae*posteriorly. 3 Pairs of False Ribs Articulating with costal cartilages of the true ribs. 2 Pairs of Floating Ribs at the bottom .
how many pairs of true ribs articulate with the sternum? 7 pairs of True Ribs articulate with sternum anteriorly via costal cartilages.
Why are they called this way? - Called false because they dont have their own individual attachments to the sternum.
What does the Rectus Abdominus do? Flexes the trunk and helps in bending down
What does the Internal Oblique do? Keeps core tight and Compresses the abdomen
Why does our spinal cord get thinner in terms of mass once it gets to the bottom? It gets thinner as it gets to the bottom because the distribution of nerves gets lesser the more we go down
What do the Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Subscapularis muscle do? Stabalizes shoulder girdle
What muscles are in the quadriceps group? Vastus medialis, vastus lateralis, rectus femoris,
What muscles in the calf group are involved in flexion? Tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius, soleus, achilles tendon
What are the four parts of the vertebrae? How many in each division? Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar, Sacrum and Coccyx. Cervical Has 7, T has 12, L has 5, Sacrum 5(fused), Coccyx 4 (fused)
