Birth control Involves methods the limit the number of children born
Blastocyst A hollow ball of cells formed the morula by mitosis
Contraception The deliberate prevention of fertilisation/pregnancy
Ejaculation The release of semen from the penis
Fertilisation When sperm fuses with the egg to produce a diploid zygote
Gamete A haploid sex cell
Germ layers Basic layer of cells in the blastocyst from which all tissues and organs will form
Gonad An organ that produces sex cells in animals
Implantation The embedding of the blastocyst into the endrometrium
Infertility The inability to produce offspring
Insemination The release of semen into the vagina
IVF Fertilisation outside the body
Lactation The secretion of milk from breasts of the female
Morula A solid ball of cells formed from the zygote by mitosis
Ovulation The release of an egg from an ovary
Secondary sexual characteristics Features that distinguish males from females other than their sex organs
Menstrual cycle Series of events that occur every 28 days in the female if fertilisation hasn't taken place
