Interneurons Carries messages between nerve cells
Sensory Neurons Nerve cell that carries messages from a sense organ to the CNS
Motor Neurons Nerve cell that carries messages from the CNS to effectors
Stimulus A change in the environment that can cause a response (nervous or hormonal)
Effector Structures that produce the response ex: nose & ears
Receptor Picks up a stimulus and sends message to effector ex: glands & muscles
Anabolic Steroids 1) Steroids are a type of lipid 2) Drugs that help build up protein quickly in muscles 3) Damage the liver and potentially can cause infertility 4) Illegal to use in sports 5) Sometimes given to animals to improve muscle mass (illegal in Europe)
