| Term | Definition |

| Anatomy | The Study of the structure and function of an organism's body |
| Organism | Any living thing. |
| Organ | A part of an organism that carries out a special task to help it survive (Stomach, kidney, liver) |
| Body System | A group of similar organs working together to maintain the health of the body. |
| Circulatory System | Cycles blood throughout the body to deliver oxygen to cells. |
| Respiratory System | Allows organisms to breathe (take in oxygen) |
| Skeletal System | Provides support and protection for the body, (includes Bones) |
| Muscular System | Allows the body to move using different types of muscles. |
| Digestive System | Processes food and allows it to be changed into energy for the body. |
| Nervous System | Allows cell to cell communication: Sends impulses along a network of nerves |
| Health | A measure of the physical condition of the body |
| Nutrition | Relates to eating food and vitamins to stay healthy. |
| Oxygen | The gas needed to survive and help produce energy |
| Respiration | The process of taking in oxygen to help produce energy |
| Transport | The movement of materials throughout the body |
