| Photosynthesis | a process in which green plants make their own food |
| Chlorophyll | a green chemical used to trap sunlight |
| Materials that go into photosynthesis: | carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight |
| Materials that come out of photosynthesis: | Glucose (sugar) and oxygen |
| Glucose | a sugar that is the plant's food |
| Leaf | where photosynthesis occurs |
| Roots | anchor the plant into the ground and soak up water and nutrients from the soil |
| Stems | provide support and act like a straw to transport water to the rest of the plant |
| Flowers | reproductive part of the plant |
| Pollination | a reproductive process when pollen is moved from the stamen to the pistil |
| Stamen | male part of the plant |
| Pistil | female part of the plant |
