Biology Immunity
| Term | Definition |

| Antigen | Foreign substances or organisms in the body |
| Pathogen | Any foreign object in the body that causes disease |
| Antibody | A chemical made by the WBC in response to antigens, each one is specific to a certain antibody/pathogen |
| What are the four types of Pathogens | Virus, Bacteria, Fungus, Parasite |
| Macrophage | A type of WBC that phagocytize (eats) the pathogen and antibody (they Macrophage and Pathogen both die) |
| What do Plasma cells do? | They make antibodies for the right now |
| What do memory B cells do? | Make antibodies that will last forever incase the body is ever reintroduced to the antigen |
| What is a vaccine? | A dead or weakened form of a pathogen that is injected into the body which will trigger our bodies to make antibodies and memory B cells to prevent future attacks |
| What is active immunity? | Immunity that lasts forever (memory B cells) |
| What is passive immunity? | Immunity that is only temporary (plasma cells) |
