ECE3 02b Creative Development

TermDefinition
Music Sounds usually produced by instruments or voices that produce a particular effect.
Art The creation of beautiful things or thought provoking words.
Dramatic Play A childs learning that includes role-playing, puppetry, and fantasy play.
Body Percussion Sounds made with body parts
Pantomiming Acting out scenes in silence, sometimes with white make up and gloves
Collage An art from where materials or pictures are cut and attached to completely cover the background.
Bridging Connecting creative activities and art to real life.
Socio Dramatic Play Dramatic play that includes interaction with either a peer or teacher
Role Playing Acting or Pretending to be someone else for a purpose.
Creative tools Scissors, punches, brushes, sponges, and other items used to create.(reusable)
Materials/supplies Paper, paint, glue, glitter, and other items used to create. (consumed) (know the difference between cardstock & constuction paper)
Tempura Paint Water based paint
Water color Dry paint that is activated when a wet brush is used.
Finger Paint A thick water based paint used for painting with hands
Adhesive A compound or substance made to stick materials together.
