How much Oxygen (O2) is in Inspired air? 21%
How much Oxygen (O2) isn in Expired air? 16% (this is what the patient gets through CPR) Each time you breathe you use 5% of inspired Oxygen - 21 minus 5 is 16!)
What do Arteries do? Carry Oxygenated blood FROM the heart
What do Veins do? Carry Deoxygenated blood TO the heart
What are Capillaries? They link the Arteries & Veins
What type of bleeding do you get from Arteries? BRIGHT red - in spurts
What type of bleeding do you get from Veins DARK red - constant
What type of bleeding do you get from Capillaries? Slight bleeding/oozing
How are you able to assess Internal Bleeding? You are unable to assess Internal Bleeding
How are you able to assess External Bleeding? Bleeding will be visible
