Ecosystems

TermDefinition
photosynthesis the process by which plants use sunlight, water and carbon dioxide to make their own food.
chlorophyll It is a green chemical in the leaves of plants. It absorbs sunlight.
glucose It is the product of photosynthesis. It’s a sugar.
carbon dioxide It’s a gas. Plants absorb it for photosynthesis.
decomposition living material breaks into parts. (example: minerals, liquids)
habitat the place where living things live. They have different quantities of light and water. They have different climates and types of soil.
ecosystem the interactions between living things and nonliving things in a habitat.
absorb absorber
release soltar/explusar
species types of animals. For example, penguins, chickens and a canaries are types of birds.
