What are Carbohydrates? There are two kinds of carbohydrates, sugars, fibers and starches, the simplest form is a sugar called glucose. Carbohydrates come from foods like pasta, bread, or rice, your body breaks them apart to get the simple sugars that it needs for fuel.
What are Proteins? Proteins are at work in every cell of your body. You need proteins to build muscle tissue; muscle tissue contains protein. Your body also uses proteins to repair damage and to make substances such as hemoglobin, which carries o2 through your blood
What is Fat? Fat gives you energy. It is bad for your health if you eat too much. Most fats that come from animals are saturated fat.
What are Vitamins? Vitamins are chemicals that have come from other living organisms. Best sources of vitamins are fresh fruits and veggies.
What are Minerals? Minerals are chemicals that occur naturally in the environment. They come from rocks and are not made by living organisms.
What is Water? Water helps control your body temperature. The body needs water to transport nutrients and waste. Your body loses more than 2 liters of water per day.
