Species types

TermDefinition
Endangered Species In danger of extinction
Endemic Species native to a particular place and ONLY found there
Keystone Species crucial to the functioning of the ecosystem; many depend on them
Exotic Species not native to a particular area
Indicator Species organism whos presence, absence, or abundance reflects on the conditions of the environment
Extinct Species species that no longer exists
Native Species normally live and thrives in a particular area
Invasive Species species that are NOT native and damage the ecosystem
