REQUIRED Organelles

TermDefinition
Cell Membrane Controls what enters and exits the cell
Cell Wall Provides additional support and stability to a plant cell
Chloroplasts The site of photosynthesis, which uses light as a source of energy
Cytoplasm The jelly-like material that contains all of the other organelles.
Mitochondria The site of cellular respiration (produces energy for the cell). Also known as the powerhouse of the cell.
Nucleus Stores genetic material (DNA) and directs the activities of a cell. This is like the brain of the cell!
Nuclear Membrane Separates the nucleus from the cytoplasm
Organelles All of the parts of a plant or animal cell that have a specific function (job)
