Mass extinction a large percentage of all living species become extinct in a relatively short period of time.
Background extinction the gradual process of species becoming extinct
Ecosystem diversity is the variety of ecosystem that are present in the biosphere.
Species diversity the number of different species and the abundance of each species in a biological community
Genetic diversity the variety of genes present in a population
Extention occurs when the last member of the species dies
Biodiversity a variety of like in one area that is determined by the number of different species in that area.
Natural resources are all materials and organisms found in the biosphere.
Overexploitation is the excessive use of a species that has economic value.
Habitat fragmentation the separation of an ecosystem into small areas.
Edge effect any different enviromental condition occuring along an ecosystem's boundaries.
Biological magnification happens when pollutants build up to high levels in body tissues of carnivores.
