| Population | Group of individuals of the same species |
| Community | Several Species living in the same place |
| Habitat | The physical environment that a species needs to survive |
| Predators | A species that feeds on a weaker species |
| Prey | A species that is being hunted or is the food source of another species |
| NIche | how a species fits into it's environment |
| Biotic | Living |
| Abiotic | Non-Living |
| Carrying Capacity | The amount or quality of resources needed by a species in one place |
| Photosynthesis | Process used by plants and algae using sunlight to make food and oxygen |
| Producers | Example Plants |
| Herbivores | Animals that eat plants, primary consumers |
| Carnivores | Animals that eat other animals, secondary consumers |
| Omnivores | Animals that each BOTH plant and other animals |
| Parasites | feed off other living organisms; but usually do not kill the food source |
| Scavengers | eat organic material of dead plants and animals |
| Decomposers | Feed on non-living organic matter often called Detritus |
| Food Chain | Energy moving from producers to primary consumers to secondary consumers and so on. |
| Food Web | Multiple food chains interconnected |
| Trophic Levels | Groups of organisms that occupy the same position in a food chain |
| Natural Selection | The process whereby some individuals live to reproduce in their environment while other do not |
