Saturated fat Have max # of hydrogen atoms possible and no double bonds
Unsaturated fat Have 1 or more double bonds
Hydrogenation Process of converting unsaturated fat to saturated fat by adding hydrogen
Phospholipid 2 fatty acids and phosphate groups attached to glycerol
Steroids lipids with carbon skeleton fused with 4 rings
Cholesterol Type of steroid found in animal cell membranes that can synthesize other steroids.
Lipids Lipids that serve as coatings for plant parts and as animal coverings.
