Cell Cycle A series of events during which a cell grows.
Asexual Reproduction Producing offspring without a mate
Sexual Reproduction Producing offspring needing a mate
Binary Fission Cell division - asexual
Histone When DNA is bound to a protein
Chromatid Make up chromosomes
Chromosome Made of DNA, consist of sister chromatids
Cytokinesis The final stages of the cell cycle where the division takes place
Fragmentation A kind of reproduction which the body breaks into several pieces
Budding New individuals split off from existing ones.
Gamete Reproductive cell (sperm, egg)
Zygote Has a combination of genetic material from both parents
Germ cell specialized cells from sexual reproduction
Somatic cell Cells that does not participate in sexual reproduction
Haploid a set of chromosomes
Diploid two complete sets of chromosomes
Homologous similar, shape, kinds of genos
Autosomes chromosomes Are chromosomes with genes that do not determine the sex of an individual
Sex chromosomes Have genes that determine the sex of an individual
