| Platelets | pieces of larger cells that help blood clot |
| Hemoglobin | oxygen carrying protein that gives blood its red color |

| Lymphatic system | collection of organs that collect fluid (lymph) and return it to the blood |
| Lymph | fluid that is collected by lymphatic system |
| Lymph nodes | an organ found in the throat, armpits and groin that remove pathogens from the lymph |
| Thymus | main gland of the lymphatic system that produces WBC |
| Spleen | largest lymphatic organ that recycles and destroys old red blood cells |
| Tonsils | small round masses of tissue in the throat that trap pathogens |
| Bone Marrow | found in the center of long bones and produces RBC and WBC |
