what is an enzyme? biological catalyst and reusable
what does the reactant sucrose break down into when using a sucrase? glucose and frutose
what do (most) enzymes end in? -ase
what is activation energy? energy needed to start reactions
what is a catalyst? substance that can change the rate of a reaction without being altered in the process.
what is hydrogen peroxides formula? And what does it break down into? H2O2 -> H2O + O2
what are the factors that affect enzyme activity? It can be effected by temperature, pH, and chemicals.
How do factors affect an enzyme? It affects the form of the enzyme which affects the substrate that goes into it.
what is a product? the end result of a substrate, after leaving the enzyme
what is a reactant? the substrate that attaches to the active site
what is a substrate? the reactant that goes into an enzyme to then become a product
why are enzymes essential for living things? they help us break down food and nutrients
