Mutations, Genetic disorders, and Human Inheritance.

QuestionAnswer
Sex-Linkage Traits that are found on the X chromosome, found commonly in males.
Multiple Alleles A trait that has more than two forms of a gene, or alleles
Sex-influenced A trait that is expressed differently, in males and females, as for example, male-pattern baldness.
Incomplete Dominance An active or dominant allele is not strong enough to cancel out the recessive allele so a new phenotype is made. Ex. Red+white=Pink
Co-dominance Both alleles are equally expressed. Ex. AB blood type
Sickle-Cell Causes irregular red blood cells, which carry less oxygen. Caused by a point mutation, recessive.
Huntington's Disease Causes damage to your nervous system, no symtoms until your 30's or 40's.
