cell membrane regulates the passage of water and dissolved substances into and out of the cell
nuclear membrane a double membraned structure opening to the E.R - regulates the passage of materials between the nucleus to the cytoplasm
cytoskeleton composed of microtubules and microfilaments gives structure to the interior of the cell
central vacuole store water (sap) - large structure found within plant cells
nuclear pore openings in nuclear membrane
cilia many small hair-like structures which aid in transportation and movement
lysosomes digestive enzymes - contained within
vacuoles storage compartments found in plant and animal cells
flagella long tail-like structure which aids in movement
glycocalyx cell sweater or coat which helps cells identify each other
nucleolus structure within nucleus - special type of DNA
peroxisomes condensation rxns - contain digestive vacuoles to disable toxins/ poisons
