convergent evolution the process by which unrelated species become more similar as they adapt to similar environments
divergent evolution process by which two (or more) related species become more and more dissimilar
Adaptive radiation evolutionary pattern where many species evolve from a common ancestral species by filling available niches
Artificial selection the selective breeding of organisms for specific, desirable traits
Coevolution the evolution of 2 or more species that is caused by their mutual interactions
