apical foramen natural opening at the tip of the root
fissure deep groove, imperfect fusion of the enamel
quadrant one quarter of an arch
lingual surface of the teeth toward the tongue
lamina dura thin compact bone that lines the alveolar socket
enamel hard tissue that covers the anatomic crown of the tooth
buccal surface of the teeth toward the cheek
occlusal chewing surface of the posterior teeth
cementum calcified connective tissue that covers the anatomical root
ventral front or belly side of the body
proximal space surface next to each other when teeth are adjacent
embrasure triangular space in a gingival direction
maxillary upper jaw, not movable
mesial surface of the tooth facing the midline
