Nature of Science - Life Science

| Controlled Variable | Factor in an experiment that is kept the same. |
| Evidence | Data collected from scientific observations and/or experiments. |
| Hypothesis | A testable idea or explanation that leads to scientific investigation. |
| Scientific Law | A statement that describes and/or explains what scientists expect to happen every time under a particular set of conditions. |
| Model | A patter, plan, representation or description designed to show the structure or workings of an object, system, or concept. |
| Dependent Variable | In a scientific investigation, the factor that changes as a result of manipulation of one or more independent variables; outcome variable. |
| Repetition | The action of repeating an scientific investigation or something that has already been said or written. |
| Replication | Repeating an experiment or investigation in exactly the same way to verify accurate results. |
| Systematic Observation | Careful observation of the natural world with the aim of better understanding it. |
| Independent Variable | The factor in a scientific observation that is deliberately changed or manipulated - test variable. |
| Scientific Theory | An explanation for why things work or how things happen the way they do in nature. |
