What is adhesion? The attraction between two different substances.
What is a triglyceride? Type of lipid shaped like an E
What is DNA and its function? deoxyribonucleic acid, stores genetic information, type of nucleic acid
What does it say about the structure of water when you say it is polar? The Hydrogen end is overall positively charged and the oxygen end is overall negatively charged.
Define monomer a subunit of a polymer
define polymer molecules made up of repeated monomers
What is a phospholipid? lipid which is found in the cell membrane
Which of these numbers is a strong acid? weak acid? 2.5, 4.8, 9.5 2.5 is a strong acid and 4.8 is a weak acid in comparison. 9.5 is a base
Which property of water is responsible for surface tension? cohesion (attraction of the same molecules)
What is a starch? polysaccharide example, food storage for plants
What type of carbohydrate is glycogen? What organisms is it found in? polysaccharide (starch) found in animals
If the structure is a hexagon or pentagon shape which organic compound category does it fit into? Carbohydrates
What is the name of the carbohydrate found in plant cell walls? Cellulose (Starch or Polysaccharide)
