what is the first stage of the cell cycle? growth and replication: The cell grows and the chromosomes and cell parts replicate. In humans this gives 92 chromosomes
what is the second stage of the cell cycle? nuclear division (mitosis): one set of chromosomes is pulled to each end of the cell, the nucleus divides
what is the third stage of the cell cycle? the rest of the cells divide: two new daughter cells are made and in humans this means that they have 46 chromosomes
