Microscope
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Coarse focus | The knob on the side of the microscope that moves the objective lens up and down. It is used in conjunction with the fine focus. |
| Fine focus | The knob used to fine tune the focus on the specimen. It is also used to focus on various parts of the specimen. |
| Mirror | Allows you to direct ambient light up through the hole in the stage and illuminate the specimen. |
| Eyepiece lens | The lens at the top of the microscope that you look into. |
| Tube | Takes the light and focuses it into the camera. |
| Objective lens | Gathers light and focuses it to produce a real image. |
| Stage | The horizontal surface upon which the slide is placed. |
