| Diversity | Differences in traits of organisms within a poplulation |
| Adaptation | Trait or behavior that happens over time that helps an organism survive and function better in their enviornment |
| Offspring | The young born from a living organism |
| Artificial Selection | When humans breed plants or animals for specific traits |
| Charles Darwin | Father of Natural Selection - wrote "on the origin of species" |
| Finches | Studied by Darwin on the Galapagos Islands - Noticed the difference in beaks based on the birds habitats |
| Genes | Information carried in your cells that determine your traits |
