Homeostasis Maintaining a stable balance in the body
Hormone Chemical signal produced in one part of an organism that affects cell activity in another part of the organism
Stomata Small opening found in plant leaves that open and close to allow water out of cells
Hibernation Deep sleep during which an animal slows down its body processes to save energy
Estivation The slowing of internal processes during hot dry weather.
