Organism relationships

producer A organism that use sunlight to make food (sugar).
consumer An organism that eats other organism to get energy.
carnivore An animal that eats other animals to get energy.
herbivore An animal that eats plants to get energy.
omnivore An animal that eats plants and other animals to get energy.
decomposer An organism that break down dead organisms.
predator An animal that hunts other animals to get energy.
prey An animal that is hunted and eaten by other animals.
autotroph producer
heterotroph consumer
primary consumer herbivore
secondary consumer omnivore or carnivore
mutualism both organisms benefit
commensalism one organism benefits and the other is not affected
parasitism one organism benefits but the the other is harmed
symbiosis close relationships between organisms
