Skin, whiskers and spines

What are the differences between standard hair/fur and whiskers? Whiskers are usually longer. thicker and more rigid
What british wild animal has spines? Hedgehog
Can whiskers feel touch? No, not the whisker itself. The whisker vibrates and stimulates the nerves in the hair follicle
What organ is the largest sensory organ which provides the animal with the sense of touch? The skin
What does tactile mean? The sense of touch
How does the skin transmit sensations such as pain, temperature and touch, to the brain? Through the nervous system
Why do some animals have whiskers? To aid their ability to sense the objects in their environment
