Biome A biome is a geographic area on Earth that contains ecosystems with similar biotic and abiotic features
What are the seven major biomes on earth? Earth has seven major land biome - Desert, Grassland, Tropical Rainforest, Temperate Rainforest, Temperate Deciduous Forest, Taiga, and Tundra
Desert Biome Desert Biomes are biomes that receive very little rain
Grassland Biome Grassland Biomes are areas where grasses are the dominant plants.
Tropical Rainforest Biome Tropical Rainforest Biomes are forests that grow near the equator
Temperate Rainforest Biome Temperate Rainforest Biome are moist forests located mostly in coastal areas with mild climates and distinct seasons.
Temperate Deciduous Forest Biome Temperate Deciduous Forest Biomes are made up of deciduous trees that lose their leaves in the fall. This is the most common forest ecosystem in the United States.
Taiga(TI guh) Biome Taiga (TI guh) is a forest biome consisting mostly of cone-bearing evergreen trees and is found only in the Northern Hemisphere.
Tundra (TUN druh) Biome Tundra (TUN druh) biomes are cold, dry, and treeless. Most tundra is located south of the North Pole.
