| -gratitude- | the quality of being thankful ; ready to show appreciation. |
| -healthcare- | the maintenance and improvement of physical and mental health through medical service. |
| -helping profession- | career that nurtures the growth of problems a person has. (nurses, therapists, doctors, social workers, teachers, preachers) |
| -humanitarian- | concerned with or seeking to promote human welfare. |
| -longevity- | long existence or service. |
| -needs assessment- | a process for determining and addressing needs or "gaps" for people in need. |
| -oath- | a solemn promise regarding one's future action or behavior. |
| -patient-centered care- | care that is respectful and responsive to individual patient needs. |
| -public health- | the health of the population as a whole, monitored and regulated by the state. |
| -selfless- | concerned more with the needs and wishes of others than with yourself. |
| -servant leadership- | a philosophy of leading others by putting the members' needs over your own. |
| -simulated work environment- | a learning environment in which a trainee is able to practice using and operating relevant industrial equipment. |
| -stewardship- | the job of supervising or taking care of something, like an organization or a property. |
| -sustainability- | the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level. |
