Tundra Biome where low temperatures and short growing seasons limit tree growth.
Permafrost Ground that has been at or below the freezing point for two or more years.
Antarctic Tundra biome consisting of Antarctica, the surrounding islands, and parts of the Southern Ocean.
Arctic Tundra biome consisting of the Arctic Ocean and the land around it.
Timberline Elevation where trees no longer grow due to lack of air, heat, or water.
Alpine Tundra Tundra biome above 10,000 feet elevation.
Himalayas Mountainous tundra biome in Asia.
Rockies Mountainous tundra biome in North America.
Iceberg Mountain of ice floating in the water separate from a landmass.
Ice Floe Large sheet of floating ice.
